The Sandbox: A safe page where you can try out some things without worrying about breaking live pages.
If you are extra cautious, I suggest duplicating the page you want to work on and it creates a copy for you that remains unlinked in the navigation.
In the website navigation menu click the gear icon next to the page you want to duplicate, scroll and select duplicate page.
You can play around with edits there until you’re familiar and confident with editing on the page directly.
As you learn you can save sections you like to your site (click the heart icon) and then add them and edit them in other pages of your site. I did that for pages that used the same format like the Artist Statement.
You can also duplicate sections by clicking the double page icon (I used this for the books section for each title to easily edit each book when needed and to alternate the background colour from grey to white.
ABOUT (page title)
My visual art practice spans textile installation, mixed media, and sculpture. At the centre of it is a longstanding interest in cloth — I consider it one of the most powerful metaphors available to an artist, a stand-in for flesh, for memory, for the fragile tissue of a human life. String technology, in all its forms, strikes me as one of the most significant examples of human ingenuity: humble, ancient, and still doing the work. I began as a fine craftsperson in the 1980s, and that attention to the hand and to material has remained at the core of everything since.

My work has been exhibited in public galleries across Canada and the United States over the last thirty years. I have received grants for my writing and visual art from the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council, the Saskatchewan Arts Board, and Kootenay Columbia Alliance. Recognition for my books includes Saskatchewan Book of the Year for Ferry Woman's History of the World and shortlisting of Philosopher at the Skin Edge of Being for the Fred Cogswell Award for Excellence in Poetry.
I am the author of seven books of poetry. My most recent, Hypatia's Wake, was published by Inanna Publications in 2022. My seventh collection, The Waiting Bench, is forthcoming from Gaspereau Press in 2027. I hold a BA in Philosophy and an MFA in Poetry, and I teach creative writing and cross-discipline creative process seminars at Oxygen Art Centre in Nelson, British Columbia.
